London Commercial Printer Website

London Commercial Printer Website

I successfully redesigned and developed City Images' website for commercial printing, incorporating modern design techniques to create a enjoyable, memorable experience.

Using my SEO skillset, I implemented optimizations that resulted in doubling their search impressions from 6k to an impressive 13k in 28 days, significantly increasing their online visibility and potential customer reach.

Key Features

01 Location Landing Pages

I built the site to have two separate location landing pages to maximise search visibility.

02 Custom cursor

Discreet enhancements like the tracking highlight to the user's cursor create a memorable experience for users.

03 Animated slider

The homepage banner slider features animated lines and a parallax effect between slide transitions.

04 File upload quote form

Prospective clients can upload artwork directly to City Images via an online form.

Client portal and marketing website

Client portal and marketing website

Neptune Resources needed a new marketing website but also wanted to have a portal that could help manage their subcontractors.

They needed a way for their new contractors to fill out forms and sign contracts online. I provided them with a password protected dashboard where they could direct their new contractors to fill in their details and upload the necessary files.

The portal has a section for uploading payslips, which automatically assigns the uploads to the subcontractor.

Key Features

01 Bulk uploads

Allow hundreds of payslips to uploaded at once, dynamically assigning subcontractors, categories and dates.

02 Digitally sign contracts

Allow prospective employees sign contracts online and generate signed PDF downloads, which are emailed.

03 Create and manage subcontractors

Administrators can manage lists of subcontractors and view all documents associated with that user.

Marketing website for architectural consultants

Marketing website for architectural consultants

Decade 3 Associates are a group of architectural consultants that work internationally as well as locally. They needed a website that they could direct potential clients to to see their previous projects and undertsand what services they offered. All design and development work performed by me, apart from the logo design.

The professional photography that the client had available made this site look superb.

Key Features

01 User directory search and filter

Business card like display of all users in the website, allowing search and filtering by company name, sector, experience.

02 Registration and approval flow

Users can register and create new accounts which will need their email account verified, before being prompted to fill in the crucial details of their profile.

03 Posts, comments, likes and replies

User submitted content and status updates with the ability to add comments and likes, all with user real time notifications.

04 Private community creation

Users can submit proposals for new communities, administrators will need to approval the community before it is published.

03 Real-time pop up notifications

Online shop for a country clothing retailer

Online shop for a country clothing retailer

Jacks 1952 is an online shop developed in Statamic and Laravel. The site is packed with great features such as an advanced search facility, automated stock synchronisation with the stores' inventory software and super simple product filtering.

Key Features

01 Advanced Search

By using a specialist external provider I was able to use "fuzzy searching" for misspelled searches and synonyms - which means if you search for "showfell" you would still get results for "Schoffel" products.

02 Filtering

You are able to quickly filter the products by a number of different attributes like colour, brand, type of product and various different type of sizes.

03 Stock Level & Price Synchronisation

The website is the online shop for two physical shops which are also selling products all day. To keep the website's stock levels and prices correct, a custom synchronisation script is run every 15 mins.

04 Initial Product Import

The database of over a 1000 products was imported by a script that I wrote. This saves time and removes the risk of human error. The script imported titles, description, images, prices and all the product attributes such as a colour, size, brand, etc.

Video Equipment Hire Booking Website

Video Equipment Hire Booking Website

FOMO Rentals are a video equipment hire company from London. They use Booqable as their rental service provider who handles all date reservations and payments.

I was hired to migrate their previous webiste from WordPress and WooCommerce to Statamic. I migrated 300+ products from their existing site using custom developed scripts to save them having to repeat the content entry.

Healthcare Federation Website

Healthcare Federation Website

The Stort Valley Healthcare website has two key functions, one as a brochure website offering supplementary healthcare services to the East Hertfordshire area, and the other as a federation member portal. I originally designed the site in 2016 and was redesigned following a shift in focus in 2019.

Key Features

01 Member login

Members are registered by an administrator who then provides credentials for the custom WordPress login. Users can reset their password if they lose it.

02 Custom Dashboard

Onboarding new and locum doctors is made easier by a bespoke restricted dashboard where policies can be read and agreed upon. Meeting notes are also posted to the dashboard where they have the option to be discussed by the members.

03 NHS Resources

The site promotes self care in conjunction with the federation's healthcare services. The site provides links to the NHS website for common conditions and a listing of 24 hour pharmacies in the Bishop's Stortford and Stort Valley area.

04 Director Profiles

The core of the healthcare federation is made up of a number of directors, who are mainly local GP partners. It was important to be able to identify the professionals in the federation to make it more familiar.

Informational NGO Website

Informational NGO Website

In 2019, I won the tender for the redesign of End Blasphemy Laws from Humanists International. The existing site did not come across as authoritative and seemed too radical in its design.

I redesigned the website and logo to fit the new brief to be more trustworthy and to combine well into the Humanists International website.

The site features an interactive coloured map highlighting the severity of punishment for blasphemy in various countries of the world.

Key Features

01 Custom Google Map

The map on End Blasphemy Laws forms the main focus of the site. It displays a colour overlay on each country that the organisation has data on. The map is useful for determining how severe and where in the world there are problems with blasphemy laws but not really how many people are affected. I proposed that a sortable table of countries with their estimate population might be more useful, which I also developed.

02 Dynamic Title

On the homepage a title showing the number of countries where punishment is death is dynamically generated by a database query to find the latest numbers.

03 Sortable Table

The table allows visitors to easy discover countries that have high severity of punishment despite having a small landmass. The table can be sorted and searched by text input.

04 Nested Menu Heirarchy

The navigation menu allows for three tiers of links. On desktop screens the menu appears when you hover your mouse, on touch devices the menu requires a tap to toggle the menu items.

Landscape Gardener Brochure Site

Landscape Gardener Brochure Site

Harlow Garden Services are one of the biggest landscape gardeners in the Bishops Stortford / Harlow area. They wanted to have their website redesigned.

I undertook the design and development of their new site and provided them a way of being able to upload their latest news and projects via the website.

The site also features location landing pages for search engines.

British Craft Preservation Centre Website

British Craft Preservation Centre Website

Grandey's Place is positioned in the Hertfordshire countryside and provides units and workshops to craftspeople that are working in British crafts that are at risk of extinction.

The website's design was influenced by the previous website. Many of the design features such as navigation, background images and font choices were kept in the new design but the site was modernised with usage of colour and layout.

Each of the craftspeople have profile pages which are optimised for search engines in an attempt to bring more enquiries to the expert craftspeople.
